Investment Structures
Business owners seeking an exit through private equity can take advantage of flexible deals that can be structured to suit the circumstances of the business and owner. Some successful structures used by CVC Private Equity include:

Management Buy-Outs (MBO)

Management Buy-Ins (MBI)

Owner retains equity and management role

Where the private equity investor partners with the existing management team in acquiring an equity interest in the company from the existing owners.

Where the private equity investor partners with an external management team in acquiring an equity interest in the company from the existing owners.

Where the owner is not ready to hand over the reins of management, CVC specializes in structures where owners are able to take some cash off the table but continue ongoing management of the business.

CVC will generally favour structures where the owner manager retains a portion of the equity and some ongoing role in the business. CVC Private Equity has developed successful mechanisms which allow proprietors to not only take substantial cash off the table immediately but to also continue to share in the future growth of their business, resulting in enhanced downstream realisations for their remaining equity.
